'Newman Number One' was a competition designed by myself in the Media department and the Music department of Cardinal Newman College.

 

The competition was designed for students to write, compose and produce a song that could be released at Christmas, the prize was to have the song pulished on Itunes and have a music video made, as well as a website. Harriet received 600 votes for her song on Youtube and won the competiton.

 

The simplicity of Harriet's song influenced my production design, and I wanted the piano to be the focus of the piece. The silver tinsel and fairy lights signify the femininity and sophistication of Harriet herself as well as the senstivity of the song's lyrics.
