Plot outline

Struggling to cope with his wife Evelyn's terminal illness, Murray Pickleton constructs time machines out of their furniture in his efforts to relive their past and escape the present. Evelyn is skeptical, but when her doctor insists she is to be moved to a hospice, she joins her husband in remembering their life together and attempts to discuss his life after hers.

My Inspiration:

 

For this brief I was inspired by Disney's 'Up' (2010), 'Wallace and Gromit: The Wrong Trousers' and 'Only Fools and Horses'. I aspired to create the realism of the 'Only Fools' flat which inspired the unkempt decor- I wanted to keep the flat personalised and reflect Murray and Evelyn's deteriorating relationship through the hoarded mess in the living space.

 

I designed the entire set, built it from the ground up, decorated, furnished and built the specialist props needed for the film. I was Head of Production Design, managing a team of five and strict student budget.
